Communion Token 1842 Carmylie

Communion Tokens were used as a means of authorising who could partake of communion at church services, in other words if you did not have a Token you had made no donation to the church and therfore would not be able to take Communion.

This is from the parish of Carmylie Forarshire Scotland and is dated 1842

On the Front  is 2 Tim II. 19 and Carmylie 1842

"The Lord Knoweth Them Everyone That Nameth The name of Christ Depart From Iniquty"

is the quote on the rear

Measuring 18mm x 29mm this Communion Token is in great condition (see pictures)

Communion Tokens were made from a variety of materials and this one is made from what appears to be a white metal
